How to host a game night with friends

Grab some snacks and warm up your voice: here is everything you need to run a multiplayer dubbing session your friends will be quoting for weeks.

Set up your game room (the lobby)

A great game night starts with getting everyone together. One player creates the game and picks a pack from the public library. The game then gives you a 5-character invite code.

Share that code with your friends and they can jump straight in. Up to 4 players fit in the same virtual room. Everything about the lobby is covered in our multiplayer dubbing game guide.

Co-op or VS: which mode should you pick?

Once everyone is in, it is time to set the mood for the night: teamwork or head-to-head?

In VS (versus) mode, every player dubs the whole scene on their own, then you compare all the versions at the end. It is the best way to find out who nails the scene.

In Co-op mode, you split the characters between you. Everyone voices their own lines, and together you rebuild the scene.

Choosing the multiplayer mode: Co-op or VS

Co-op: all at once or taking turns

If you went with Co-op, there is one more call to make: the pace of the game.

"All at once" is the fastest and most chaotic option: everyone records their lines at the same time. Nobody hears anyone else, and you only discover the combined result at the final reveal. It is usually wildly off and very funny.

"Taking turns" is more methodical: players record one after the other. Each performance gets its moment, and you can play off the person before you. It is perfect when you want a more polished dub.

The final reveal: your combined masterpiece (or glorious disaster)
