About TryToAct

TryToAct is a free online dubbing game you play right in your browser, with nothing to download. The idea is simple: pick a scene from a movie, a TV show or an animation, read the lines as they scroll by, record your voice at the right moment… then watch the result, which is often hilarious.

Our mission

To make dubbing accessible to everyone. You don’t need to be an actor or own any gear: a phone or computer mic is enough. TryToAct was designed for game nights with friends, for streamers playing live and for anyone who has ever wanted to lend their voice to their favourite character.

What you can do on TryToAct

• Dub scenes solo and get an accuracy score on every line.
• Play multiplayer: each player takes a role, then everyone discovers the dubbed scene together.
• Mimic sounds into your mic in Battle mode: a jury scores every imitation, with up to 12 players per room.
• Make your own packs from your favourite clips.
• Climb the leaderboard, earn ranks and customise your character.
• Publish your best dubs and discover the community’s.

An independent project

TryToAct is an independent project, developed in France and launched at the end of summer 2026. The game evolves every week thanks to players’ feedback: new packs, voice filters, a wardrobe, a multiplayer lobby… The news is covered on the TryToAct blog (in French).

The game also grows thanks to content creators: several streamers play TryToAct live, and some are part of our Twitch partner streamer programme (in French).

A free game

The dubbing game is free to play, with no subscription. Optional coin purchases are available in the game. To cover hosting and development costs, the site may display ads, with the information and consent choices described in our privacy policy.

Who writes on TryToAct

The guides and blog articles are written by the team that designs and develops TryToAct. It follows players’ feedback on Discord and tests every feature described in the guides itself.

Every article is dated and shows when it was last updated. Spotted a mistake or something out of date? Write to [email protected]: fixes are made in the article concerned.
