How do you play a dubbing game?
Pick a short scene, mute its original voices and perform the lines into your mic while the picture rolls. At the end you can play your version back, start over if the timing feels off, or keep the result. A phone or computer mic is enough to try it.
Solo, you can take your time to find a voice and polish your lines. With friends, up to twelve players join a room with an invite code (four in co-op). You split the characters between you and watch the assembled scene once every take is done.
Creator mode lets you cut a video into playable scenes, assign the characters and build a pack. Only use a video you hold the rights or the necessary permissions for. A new pack meant for the public library is reviewed before it goes live.
For your first game
Pick a short scene with one or two voices and dialogue that is easy to follow. Make sure your browser can use the mic, watch the scene once, then record without chasing a perfect impression. An offbeat voice or an improvised line is often funnier than a copy. If a line comes in too early or too late, you can redo the take before keeping the result.
Share only if you want to
A game never shows up in the public feed on its own. You decide whether to publish your dub; it then goes through an automatic audio check and other players can report it. You can find and delete your posts from the pack library. The community rules explain what is allowed and how to ask for something to be taken down.
Battle mode: mimic the sound, the jury scores you
In Battle mode, the whole room listens to a short sound: a meme, an iconic movie line, an animal call, a video-game sound effect. Each player then mimics it into their mic, in a single take, and the imitations are replayed one by one on stage in front of everyone.
Your take is compared with the original on three criteria scored out of 100: timbre (the colour of the sound and its melody), rhythm and length. You don’t need the same voice: a higher or lower imitation still scores well if it starts, rises and stops like the original. A jury of four judges turns that score into marks out of 10, and points add up round after round.
Sound packs by theme
Sounds come in packs: Memes, Movies, TV, Gaming, Animals. The room’s host picks up to three of them and sets the number of rounds, from 1 to 20.
Packs made by players
Battle Studio lets you build your own sound pack: import short sounds, trim each one to between 0.8 and 3 seconds, then submit your pack to the library, where it is published once reviewed.
Solo or up to twelve
Start a Battle room and share its invite code: up to twelve players can face off in the same game. You can also join a public match with other players online.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own videos?
Yes. Creator mode accepts videos you hold the rights or the necessary permissions for. You can then cut the video into scenes and choose to publish the pack once it has been reviewed.
How much does it cost?
The dubbing game is free to play, with no subscription. Optional coin purchases are available for some in-game items; you don’t need them to start playing.
What is Battle mode?
A voice-imitation game: you hear a short sound, mimic it into your mic and a jury scores the timbre, rhythm and length of your take. Up to twelve players per room, with Memes, Movies, TV, Gaming and Animals sound packs.
Is there a leaderboard?
Yes! Check the leaderboard to see the community’s best voice actors and most played packs.
Can I share my dubs?
Absolutely! Every dub can be shared. You can also create a pack so others can dub your videos.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in every modern browser, desktop and mobile alike. All you need is a mic to record.
Do I need an account to start?
You can explore the site without an account. To join a multiplayer room or publish a dub, sign in with a free account.
How does the mic work?
Your browser asks for permission when the game starts. Use your phone’s or computer’s mic, or a headset; you can listen to your take before sharing it.
How many people can play together?
A room holds up to twelve players in VS and four in co-op. Share its invite code, then pick a scene and split the roles before you start.
How do I report a public dub?
Use the Report button on the post. For a copyright question or a pack, contact the team directly from the Contact page.
Can I delete a dub I published?
Yes. Open “My posts” in the pack library, then use the Delete button on that dub. It is removed from Discord as well.
